STORY: Romeo and Juliet meet and fall in love despite an ancient grudge between their families, the Montagues and Capulets. Assisted by Juliet’s good-natured nurse and Friar Lawrence, they marry in secret but then everything goes terribly wrong and ultimately everyone pays a heavy price for continuing this destructive vendetta. Shakespeare’s original text is edited to appeal to young people, and enlivened with a rich variety of songs and dances.
